Under the Head of Revenue Collection Ranchi Municipal Corporation covered in 55 wards of urban area for the collection of revenue of holding tax as individual and bulk (example:- Societies, Govt. Building both). The Ranchi Municipal Corporation has divided the holding into two type individual holding and bulk holdings, while as individual holding numbers, will be given to individuals properties, however, incase of bulk holding one holding No. will be provided to every house in a particular colony like Ashok Nagar, CCL, CMPDI and HEC among others. There are around 2.5 Lakh household in the city of which 1.6 lakh are individual holding, these include both residential and commercial buildings while the remaining are bulk holdings. One is very important; this assessment is being conducted after 23 years.

While the revenue demand from property tax collection in 2015-16 fiscal was 9 Crore, an amount of 12 Crore was collected. In the year of 2016-17 self assessment will help setup the revenue demand for coming year, which is likely to be around Rs. 30 to 35 Crore. In spite of Ranchi Municipal Corporation achieved Rs. 43 Crore with the highest efforts of the personnel of Ranchi Municipal Corporation. It is an historical achievement. The Ranchi Municipal Corporation awarded 10 (ten) property owners who have paid the highest property tax and also awarded the top 06 (six) ward from where highest number of self assessment form as well as highest revenue have been collected.

The Ranchi Municipal Corporation was started online payment facility through portal system, as well as different counters system (Jan Suvidha Kendra) and ICICI Bank instead which as easiest process for the citizen.
